Our Helplines provide confidential services 24 hour, 7 days a week. Please text or call:

The Helplines provide support to clients, their family and friends, and to professionals seeking information or assistance in supporting a client. The Helpline also provides distress interventions for clients in need of immediate help. Staff will provide assistance, triaging, and referrals for follow up to provide support.

Integrated-Youth-Hub

Integrated Youth Hub

We offer a full-service Hub with multiple programs to assist youth ages 11-24 through easy access to primary care, addiction and mental health support, and multiple other social service programs. Programs also include summer camps and cultural events. Services are youth and family-centered.

Youth-Emergency-Housing

Youth Emergency Housing

Our Youth Emergency Housing is temporarily closed for restructuring.

The Open Doors provides emergency housing for youth in need. Housing can accommodate clients ages 16-24. The youth work with Youth Support Workers to develop and achieve goals and life skills. 

The location of our Youth Emergency Housing is undisclosed to protect vulnerable clients.

Youth Transitional Suites

The Youth Transitional Suites are independent living quarters with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen/dining area that help with the transition to living independently in the community. While living in their own independent suite, clients learn about their rights as a tenant and valuable life skills such as budgeting and meal planning.

Prevent Teen Suicide

Youth Suicide Prevention & Awareness

In response to the Canada wide public health issue regarding suicide and mental health, The Open Doors has created a program with the goal to bring suicide awareness and prevention. Our goal is to abolish the stigma that surrounds suicide and mental health, and open a safe conversation with youth ages 8 – 24.

Employment-Program

Employment Program

For Participants:

The Employment Program assists individuals ages 15-30 with entering the workforce by teaching skills such as:

  • Resume building
  • Time management
  • Interview strategies

We also provide you with whatever training you require… for FREE!

For Employers:

The YESS (Youth Employment & Skills Strategy) Program, funded through the Government of Canada, helps connect our participants with local business employers to provide meaningful work experience.

  • 1 participant working up to 36.5 hours within a one-week duration @ $15/hr. Employer is then reimbursed this pay by The Open Doors once proof of payment is confirmed (ex: Paystub).

We also take care of the training, so you do not have to worry about covering this cost on your end!

SMART-Recovery

SMART Recovery

Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) is a global community of mutual-support groups. At meetings, participants help one another resolve problems with any addiction (to drugs or alcohol, or to activities such as gambling or over-eating) as guided by the 4-Point Program®. We are hosting FREE weekly SMART Recovery meetings in both Camrose and Wetaskiwin!
