The Open Doors’ Integrated Justice and Support Programs aim to:
- Promote a fair, accessible, and responsive justice system
- Empower individuals affected by crime
- Foster community healing and safety
- Reduce recidivism and prevent future offences
- Provide culturally appropriate and trauma-informed services
Our approach recognizes the interconnected nature of justice, support, and prevention, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to create positive outcomes for individuals and communities affected by crime.
This comprehensive framework includes:
1. Restorative Justice Program (Camrose)
This program focuses on repairing harm caused by criminal behaviour, bringing together victims, offenders, and community members to address the impact of crime and work towards healing and accountability
2. Victim Support Program (Wetaskiwin, Ponoka, Maskwacis)
Dedicated services that provide assistance, information, and advocacy for victims of crime, ensuring their needs are met throughout the justice process.
3. Crime Prevention Program (Wetaskiwin and County)
Initiatives designed to reduce the incidence of crime through early intervention, community engagement, and addressing root causes of criminal behaviour.
